About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Operations Engineer to ensure the stable, secure, and efficient operation of our Private Cloud, Cloud Management Platform, and Big Data environments.
You will play a key role in maintaining production systems and supporting long-term operational success.
Location: Bogotá, Colombia
Contract: 3–5 Years

Languages: Spanish (Working fluency), English (Technical reading & basic communication)
Reports To: On-site Project Manager / Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor systems (24/7 environment), manage alerts, backups, and access control.
- Resolve Level 1 & Level 2 support tickets.
- Follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and configuration updates.
- Maintain operational documentation (runbooks, SOPs, troubleshooting guides).
- Support either:
- Cloud Platform Operations (Alibaba Cloud, CMP, provisioning, networking, tuning), or
- Big Data Platform Operations (Hadoop/Spark, job scheduling, data pipelines, governance).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years as a Project Manager.
- Experience leading cloud, data center, or government IT projects.
- Proven ability to build and manage operations teams.
- Strong understanding of Private Cloud, CMP, or Big Data platforms.
- Proficiency in PMP/PRINCE2 methodologies and tools like Jira/Confluence.
- Strong bilingual communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid work authorization for Latin America (Colombia preferred).
What we are looking for:
- Associate degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud or enterprise IT operations.
- Experience in government, telecom, or financial systems is a plus.
Technical Profile (One Required):
Cloud Focus:
- Experience with Alibaba Cloud, AWS, or Azure
- Linux/Windows server administration
- Networking (TCP/IP, VPN)
- Basic scripting (Shell/Python)
OR
Data Platforms
- Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Kubernetes
- Experience with data governance or data warehouse platforms
