We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide on-site/ on-call assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

About the Role:

The IT Field & Desktop Support Technician provides comprehensive technology support to Serta Simmons Bedding’s 17 manufacturing plants, 1 corporate campus, and remote locations including Canada and Puerto Rico. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing end-user devices, printers, handheld scanners, network equipment, and conference room technologies across both manufacturing and corporate environments. Travel exceeding 50% is required, including potential international travel; a valid passport is mandatory.


Key Responsibilities:

End-User Device Support

  • Provide technical support for Windows 10/11, MacOS, iOS, Android, and mobile devices.
  • Manage Zero Touch deployment processes using Intune and JAMF.
  • Configure and support monitors, docking stations, printers, copiers, and Zebra label printers.
  • Support and maintain handheld barcode scanners and other warehouse mobile technology.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with enterprise applications including Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms.
  • Provide direct support for conference room AV technology including Microsoft Teams setups.

Imaging & Deployment

  • Monitor and maintain local (LAN) and wide area (WAN) networks across all locations.
  • Perform installation, testing, and troubleshooting of network hardware, including routers, switches, access points (APs), and wireless controllers (Cisco/Meraki preferred).
  • Respond to network incidents including packet loss, latency, system connectivity, and carrier service issues.
  • Execute standard procedures to improve network reliability and prevent outages.
  • Assist with datacenter and server support as needed (Microsoft Server/Print Services).
  • Perform proactive wireless infrastructure reviews and generate health reports and alerts.
  • Implement hardware upgrades or replacements and ensure technology lifecycle management.

Service Management & Documentation

  • Accurately document and manage incidents and service requests via ServiceNow for
  • SLA-driven resolution.
  • Participate in small to medium complexity IT projects, providing expertise for both field and desktop technologies.
  • Communicate effectively across diverse geographic teams to coordinate support and project activities.

Additional Duties

  • Provide on-call support as scheduled.
  • Maintain relationships with critical infrastructure service providers to ensure service delivery standards.
  • Recommend and implement improvements aligning with departmental and organizational goals.

Operating Systems

  • 3-5 years of combined experience in field support, desktop support, and networ infrastructure.
  • Expertise with handheld scanners, Zebra label printers, iOS, Android, MacOS, Windows 10/11.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise printing services, Microsoft Office Suite, and conference room technology.
  • Demonstrated experience with Intune/JAMF Zero Touch deployment solutions.
  • 3+ years of networking experience: routing (OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS), switching (Layer 2/3/4), TCP/UDP, iSCSI, NFS, SMB.
  • 2+ years Cisco/Meraki network support.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot network and data center hardware.
  • Excellent documentation skills in ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Must hold a valid passport and be able to travel 50% or more, including to Canada and Puerto Rico.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Server environments, including print and file services.
  • Prior support experience in manufacturing and distribution environments.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Networking certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) preferred.
