Job Summary:
The GSW PSA Engineer – Distribution is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and deployment of IT systems and hardware across distribution centers. The role ensures that all Point of Sale (POS), network, and peripheral systems operate efficiently and reliably in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first- and second-level support for POS hardware, terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners, card readers, cash drawers, and other peripherals.
- Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of IT systems within distribution centers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system and network issues promptly.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new hardware and software systems.
- Ensure timely incident resolution and update all activities in the ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar).
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce system downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Support deployment and upgrades of POS and other distribution IT systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation for assets, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide end-user training and technical guidance when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in desktop support, field engineering, or POS system support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience with POS systems, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and other distribution IT hardware.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GSW / PSA systems or enterprise IT solutions.
- Exposure to ITIL processes and service delivery environments.
- Basic understanding of network switch configuration and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Previous experience working in retail, warehousing, or distribution IT environments.
