We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide on-site/ on-call assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

About the Role:

The AV Specialist (contractor role) manages on-site AV operations, delivering advanced technical support to our client’s users both remotely and in person. The role involves resolving complex issues in supporting AV and conferencing systems. Also includes maintaining hardware and software across various platforms. The role emphasizes ITIL-aligned service delivery, process improvement, and executive-level support, requiring strong technical and leadership skills. Lastly, this role will be required to be onsite located at our Washington, DC office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provided day-to-day Audio Visual/Video Teleconferencing (AV/VTC) support by responding to Help Desk tickets, telephone requests, and ensuring conference room readiness.
  • Installed, configured, tested, and maintained AV/VTC equipment, including video conferencing systems, presentation laptops, microphones, projectors, displays, and auditorium lighting systems.
  • Delivered technical support for live meetings, executive briefings, special events, broadcasts, and hybrid conferences by monitoring sessions and resolving issues in real time.
  • Performed preventive maintenance, diagnostics, firmware updates, and operational testing on AV/VTC systems, documenting all maintenance activities from initiation through completion.
  • Set up, monitored, and troubleshot video conferencing platforms to ensure reliable communication for onsite and remote participants.
  • Trained end users and administrators on conference room technologies, presentation systems, and best practices for AV equipment usage.
  • Provided Tier 2 IT support for desktops, laptops, software, hardware, network connectivity, telephony, conference rooms, hoteling workspaces, mobile devices, and remote access solutions.
  • Diagnosed and resolved hardware, software, networking, and remote connectivity issues through both onsite and remote support.
  • Collaborated with IT teams, the Global Service Desk, and cross-functional departments to ensure efficient service delivery and knowledge sharing across global locations.
  • Supported executive leadership by delivering high-priority technical assistance for meetings, presentations, and mission-critical events.
  • Maintained system readiness dashboards, tracked equipment inventory, managed service documentation, and ensured compliance with operational standards.
  • Worked closely with management to assess conference room technology requirements, coordinate AV projects, and recommend system improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in AV support in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A+, Network+, or MCSA certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of AV, video conferencing, and broadcast equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience supporting executive-level users.
  • Ability to troubleshoot AV and IT issues.
  • Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with conference room technology and video meetings.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (MS 365) and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or other IT ticketing systems.
  • Troubleshoot Windows 11 desktops and laptops.
  • Support Microsoft Teams and collaboration tools.
  • Provide remote support using tools like Bomgar (BeyondTrust).
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware.
  • Support corporate users, including VIP/executive users.
  • Resolve IT issues both remotely and onsite.

Work Schedule

  • This is an onsite role with no option for remote work.
  • Shift is between the hours of 7 am to 4 pm Mon – Fri.
