We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide on-site assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

Location: Decatur IL, USA (Onsite – No Remote)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | Full-Time | Onsite
Employment Type: 1099 – Independent Contractor (No benefits)
Language Requirement: Native English Speaker
Experience Required: 5+ years in Field Services, Manufacturing IT, or EUC Support

About the Role
Axiom Technologies is seeking an experienced Field Services Engineer (Manufacturing + EUC) (Full Time) based in Decatur, IL. This full-time, independent contractor role involves providing both on-site and remote support for end users while efficiently managing the assignment and coordination of service requests.
You’ll serve as the go-to technical resource for desktop support needs, ensuring the timely resolution of IT issues and smooth coordination among field technicians and internal teams.

Role Overview:

  • Manufacturing Support – 70%
  • EUC Remote Support – 10%
  • Print Services – 10%

Key Skills:

  • Strong expertise in manufacturing equipment, hardware, software, and networking
  • Hands-on experience with operating systems, applications, and remote support tools
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and shop-floor systems

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing & Onsite Support

  • Provide onsite technical support for manufacturing equipment, machinery, robotics, and systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain manufacturing hardware and software
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve issues efficiently

EUC & Hardware Support

  • Install, configure, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues; refurbish faulty devices
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and ensure quality standards
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment

Remote & Escalation Support

  • Provide remote desktop support for complex issues
  • Act as an escalation point for Level 1 support
  • Track and manage incidents through a ticketing system
  • Deliver user guidance, training, and technical assistance

Infrastructure & Project Support

  • Perform structured cabling surveys, design, and installations
  • Coordinate projects including vendors, timelines, and budgets
  • Manage IT infrastructure lifecycle and asset management
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, MDM standards, and asset disposal procedures
