We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide onsite/ on-call assistance to end-users within the organization’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

Job Summary:

The Software Asset Management (SAM) Lead is responsible for organizational software assets to ensure compliance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency. This role includes managing software licenses and global software contracts, along with all related license management activities. The SAM Lead will handle Tier 1 vendors such as Adobe and Microsoft, manage engineered software solutions, and process daily software requests. Key responsibilities involve strategizing renewals and true-ups, automating software acquisition and installation processes, and managing software procurement. The role also encompasses Tier 1 vendor management, FinOps activities such as recharging end-user business units, vendor payments, and cross-charging, with expertise in SAP billing tools. Additionally, the SAM Lead collaborates with server teams to manage and install critical concurrent licenses on licensing servers and coordinates license server upgrades. Strong knowledge of software asset management practices, vendor management, and automation strategies is essential. Manage SAM PRO from entitlement to reclamation. Manage and lead day to day BAU activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee organizational software assets to ensure compliance, cost optimization,
  • and operational efficiency.
  • Manage software licenses and global software contracts, including all license
    management activities.
  • Handle Tier 1 vendors such as Adobe and Microsoft, along with engineered
    software solutions.
  • Process and fulfill daily software requests from business units.
  • Develop strategies for software renewals and true-ups to maintain compliance
    and optimize costs.
  • Drive automation for software acquisition and installation processes.
  • Manage software procurement and vendor relationships, including Tier 1 vendor
    management.
  • Execute FinOps activities such as recharging end-user business units, vendor
    payments, and cross-charging.
  • Utilize SAP billing tools for financial operations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with server teams to manage and install critical concurrent licenses
    on licensing servers.
  • Coordinate license server upgrades and ensure smooth implementation.
  • Monitor software usage and provide actionable insights for governance and
    optimization.
  • End to end management of SAM PRO.
  • Define Automation of KPI Dashboards.
  • Define standard procurement and FinOps Process.
  • Documentation on process.
  • Provide technical support involving vendors contacts.
  • Track the compliance of License Keys. Remediate the risk with utmost care.
  • Track license usage compliance according to contractual clause.
  • Initiate and manage license surveys for True up’s and True down.
  • Manage day to day BAU activities.
  • Manage the software renewals and vendor collabration.
  • Handle Team Process updates meeting.
  • Manage license consumption reports.
  • Define and Manage Leaver program.
  • Work with vendors and internal contractual team for consolidation of global
    contracts to enterprise contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • ITIL Foundation or SAM Certification mandatory.
  • Certification on SAMPRO.
  • Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance audits.
  • Certification on any Tier 1 vendor license Management. Knowledge of Adobe and
    Microsoft Licensing is a must.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in software asset management.
  • Preferred experience on Tier 1 vendor. Looking for Adobe and Microsoft.
  • Expertise on ServiceNow and SAMPRO platforms.
  • Experience on software procurement management.
  • Exposure to compliance audits and entitlement management.
  • Experience in cost optimization and license utilization analysis.
  • Experience in FinOps with chargeback system.
  • SAP Billing tool experience is must.
  • Experience in leading small team monitoring day to day BAU activities.

Experience in a similar role

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
