Network Engineer – Offshore / Rig Support – Aberdeen, England (Full-Time)

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Network Engineers to support refinery and offshore rig operations. The role involves onshore design and documentation activities, as well as offshore deployment, commissioning, and support of network infrastructure in line with enterprise standards and security guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather onshore requirements and prepare technical documentation for:
  • Enterprise network connectivity
  • PCN networks supporting real-time data applications
• Design network solutions for:
  • Rig commissioning projects
  • Rig decommissioning documentation
• Collaborate with Field Network Architects and Digital Security teams to ensure designs comply with established standards and governance frameworks.
• Support offshore network deployments, including:
  • Installation, testing, fault finding, and acceptance testing
  • As-built documentation
• Travel between regions as required.
• Undertake offshore assignments, including rotations of 2–3 weeks when needed.

Mandatory Offshore Certifications

Candidates must hold valid offshore certifications, including:

• BOSIET (Global)
• MIST (Global)
• Basic Safety Training (Region/Sector specific)
• Donut Training
• CA-EBS – Rebreather System (Global)
• Offshore Medical and Fit-to-Train Certification (Global)

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience supporting offshore rigs and/or refinery network environments.
• Strong background in network design, deployment, and support for industrial or operational technology (OT) environments.
• Hands-on experience with offshore network commissioning and operational support.
• Ability to work effectively in regulated, safety-critical environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including offshore assignments.

Experience in a similar role

• 4-6 years of relevant experience.
