Job description:

The GSW PSA Engineer – SCADA is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and integrating SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems across industrial and distribution environments. The role involves configuring, testing, and troubleshooting SCADA applications, ensuring reliable communication between control systems and field devices, and maintaining system availability and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and maintenance for SCADA systems and related OT infrastructure.
  • Perform configuration, calibration, and testing of SCADA servers, RTUs, PLCs, and field communication devices.
  • Support the integration of new equipment and systems into existing SCADA networks.
  • Monitor system performance and perform diagnostics to identify and resolve faults in real time.
  • Work closely with engineering, network, and field teams to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Conduct system backups, patch management, and version control of SCADA applications.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, network diagrams, and system processes.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, safety, and change management policies.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, and deployment of SCADA upgrades and enhancements.
  • Provide post-deployment support and technical handover to operational teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in SCADA system support, OT engineering, or industrial automation.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms such as GE, Schneider, Siemens, Citect, or Wonderware (AVEVA).
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming, RTUs, and telemetry systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, Ethernet/IP, IEC 61850, etc.).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, including VLANs, firewalls, and serial/IP communications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in utility, energy, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
  • Knowledge of IT/OT convergence and integration between SCADA and enterprise systems.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or vendor-specific SCADA certifications.
  • Understanding of industrial cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
