We are seeking a skilled Retail Point of Sale (POS) and Cash Register Repair Technician to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain POS systems, cash registers, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and related retail hardware. The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience with electronic repairs, and the ability to provide excellent customer support in a retail or business environment.
Key Responsibilities:

   •    Install, configure, and repair POS systems, cash registers, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and related hardware.

   •    Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including connectivity, printer malfunctions, touchscreen failures, and payment processing errors.

   •    Perform hardware break-fix, open, and replace faulty hardware for out-of-warranty POS devices.

   •    Perform software updates, firmware installations, and system reconfigurations as needed.

   •    Provide technical support and training to retail staff on the proper use and maintenance of POS systems.

   •    Maintain accurate records of repairs, service calls, and equipment inventory.

   •    Work with manufacturers and vendors to order replacement parts and process warranty claims.

   •    Ensure compliance with security protocols for POS systems and handle sensitive customer transaction data with care.

   •    Travel to retail locations as needed to provide on-site repairs and support.

   •    Stay updated on the latest POS technology, troubleshooting techniques, and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

   •    Experience in POS system repair, IT support, or electronics troubleshooting.

   •    Strong knowledge of hardware components, including cash drawers, receipt printers, card readers, and barcode scanners.

   •    Familiarity with POS software, networking, and basic IT support principles.

   •    Ability to diagnose and repair electronic components at a technical level (experience with circuit board repair or soldering is a plus).

   •    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

   •    Strong customer service and communication skills.

   •    Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls efficiently.

   •    High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications in IT or electronics repair preferred).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

   •    Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

   •    Work in retail environments, warehouses, or service centers.

   •    Travel may be required for on-site repairs.

   •    May involve standing, bending, and working with small components for extended periods.
