We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide onsite/ on-call assistance to end-users within the organization’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.
Job Description: Desktop Support Engineer
We are looking for a skilled Desktop Support Engineer with expertise in PC and Laptop hardware service, network devices, and end-user support. The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience: 2-3 years in Desktop Support or similar roles, with expertise in hardware support, troubleshooting, and IT systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in desktop application installation (MS Office, O365, Outlook, Skype), Windows OS administration, SCCM, Anti-virus software, and basic knowledge of network devices, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP. Familiarity with Apple devices and MAC OS is a plus.
- Support Duties: Handling hardware, software, and networking issues, providing desk-side support, troubleshooting desktop applications, and supporting mobile device management and video conferencing systems.
- Responsibilities: Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software, assist with system deployments (SCCM OS deployment), and manage user tickets. Coordinate with technical teams for issue resolution and provide remote support.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients and management, walk users through troubleshooting steps, and ensure timely issue resolution. Maintain asset inventory and documentation.
- Additional Skills: Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively, and provide excellent customer service. Perform daily health checks on meeting room devices and handle hardware refreshes, PC moves, and device retirements.
- Professionalism: Maintain high standards of communication and professionalism when interacting with clients, managers, and engineers. Document all requests accurately and escalate issues as necessary.
IT Qualifications
At least two of the following:
- PCLaptop OEM Maintenance Certification
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification in the desktop area
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification
Experience in a similar role
- 2 – 3 years of relevant experience.
